Flesh-eating drug Krokodil shows up in US

The US has recorded the first cases of a new drug that eats flesh from the inside and leaves users with reptilian-like skin.

The homemade drug is known as Krokodil, and it’s extremely popular in Russia. It has the same mental effect as using heroin but is three-times cheaper.

Users mix codeine with hydrocarbons, like gasoline, oil or alcohol. The mixture is then filtered and boiled before being injected into the vein.

Banner’s Poison Control Centre says the first two US cases have been reported in Arizona.

“As far as I know, these are the first cases in the United States that are reported. So we’re extremely frightened,” Dr Frank LoVecchio, the co-medical director at Banner’s Poison Control Centre told KLTV. “They extract [the drug] and even though they believe that most of the oil and gasoline is gone, there is still remnants of it. You can imagine just injecting a little bit of it into your veins can cause a lot of damage.”

Continual use of Krokodil causes blood vessels to burst, leaving skin green and scaly and leading to gangrene.

Russia has 2.5 million people who have registered to seek treatment as addicts and the average life span for a user is only two to three years.

In a world full of surface interaction your candidness can be refreshing for him.

There are a lot of cases where he doesn't necessarily want to be "right.” He simply wants to be understood. He will never be able to understand in totality what it's like to be a woman in this world just as you will never be able to fathom what it takes for him to be a man. That's perfectly fine. However, if you can find it within you to be aware enough to recognize he has a different perspective and to try to see life from his view, he will be forever grateful. This will only prompt him to do the same for you.

One of the worse things you can do is judge a man, especially when it comes to his past life before you. He isn't asking for forgiveness; he's merely seeking your acceptance. If he can become comfortable in divulging who he's been then you'll never have to guess who he is.

If he has proven himself to be trustworthy then trust him. He needs to know that you believe in his character. It strengthens him. He isn't asking you to love blindly but just not be consumed with hypotheticals.

Every secure goal-driven man is looking for the same in a woman. To know that you have plans outside of him is a true turn on. This actually helps to keep him in check and lets him know there are things in your life that are bigger than him.

I am not suggesting that you walk around with an apron on all day baking biscuits. He isn't looking for that. But, what he is looking for is someone that can turn a house into a home. He's seeking someone who is able to give his life some much-needed balance. Yes he needs security as well, especially when it comes to sharing his day-to-day life with you.

Doctors grow nose on man’s forehead

Surgeons at a hospital will transplant a new nose grown on a patient’s forehead to his nasal spot in Fuzhou City, east China’s Fujian Province.

The patient, nicknamed”Xiaolian”, 22, suffered a severe nasal trauma in a serious car accident in August 2012.

He just received basic medical remedy rather than a plastic surgery out of financial concerns following the accident.

After months, however, his condition was infected due to absence of surgery and his nasal cartilage started to be corroded, making it impossible for surgeons to do nasal reconstruction.

However, surgeons came up with an idea of growing a nose on Xiaolian’s forehead — a medical practice never tried in the world.

The way is to grow the nose by placing a skin tissue expander onto Xiaolian’s forehead, cutting it into the shape of a nose and planting a cartilage taken from his ribs.

Now after nine-month growth, the surgeons said, the nose is in good shape and transplant will be performed soon.

“We have gone through the hardest step and now it is not difficult to carry out transplant surgery,” said Guo Zhihui, Director of Plastic Surgery Department of Xiehe Hospital Affiliated to Fujian Medical University.

He added Xiaolian will start a normal life once a successful surgery is done
